ONLINE SCHEDULING, PAPERWORK, AND PERSONALIZED TREATMENT
I offer several modes of secure technology services to enhance your experience of counseling and help save you time. By creating an account through my secure client portal, you will have 24/7 access to view my availability, schedule and re-schedule counseling sessions, and complete paperwork and assessments online. Your client portal is also the means by which I offer online video sessions (see below for more information on these services). In addition, using your client portal will allow us to optimize the time we spend together in session, by allowing me to provide you with the option for personalized assessments, journaling, homework, and communication with me between our sessions.
ONLINE (VIDEO) COUNSELING SESSIONS

Busy schedules, limited transportation, frequent travel, rural residence, long-distance relationships, anxiety, physical limitations, or military duty are a few of the many possible obstacles to seeking help. I offer online sessions to make counseling more feasible for my clients. A growing body of research demonstrates that distance counseling, can be just as effective as face-to-face counseling.
Here are some of the necessary requirements for online video sessions:

ABOUT THERAPY
A typical therapy hour usually lasts 45-50 minutes, while first appointments approximately last for about 75-90 minutes. During our first few sessions I will be obtaining a history of the issues you are currently hoping to address, as well as asking a variety of questions about you and your background. This will help me get a better understanding of who you are and how I can best be of help. I often frame the first 2-3 sessions as a "trial period" where we can continue to determine whether or not we are a good fit for one another and refine our goals for therapy. If for any reason we decide not to work together, then I am happy to help provide additional referrals and resources.
