TUCKER, the THERAPY DOG
Meet Tucker, our trained therapy dog. He is a 5 year old Australian Labradoodle who comes to us from Deer Creek Labradoodles in Kentucky. He is both hypoallergenic and non-shedding.
Sometimes the idea of talking about the issues that are bringing you to therapy can be daunting, anxiety provoking, or unsettling. Tucker is skilled at sensing when someone needs a little extra support and reassurance and is quick to offer his assistance in putting your mind at ease. With his calm and gentle demeanor, he may come over and rest his head on your knee, trying to soothe you with his soulful eyes, or he may quietly lay at your feet, letting you know that he's there if you need him. Our clients often tell us that Tucker's presence allows them to feel more comfortable opening up. He has an ability to recognize when someone may be feeling overwhelmed and is eager to help in creating an atmosphere of safety and stability. Tucker loves his time in the office but sometimes his work can get exhausting and he may be seen softly snoring in a corner as he dreams of squirrels and peanut butter (2 of his favorite things).
If you have a strong preference for whether or not Tucker is present for your sessions please let us know!
